First City Neighborhood Inventory Growing

The neighborhood inventory tool,  developed by Jerrine Wyman, VISTA beautification coordinator, and 20 neighborhood assembly members, aims to gather data about property maintenance and general neighborhood infrastructure categories, like street lighting, sidewalks, garbage bins and trees. City Working to Reuse Flood Debris
[6/11/2007] - The Binghamton Department of Public Works collected 20,000 tons of sediment and debris during the clean up of June and November 2006 floods. The overwhelming amounts of debris were taken to the LaGrange facility to be stored and then sorted. Water Filtration Plant Evacuated
[6/4/2007] - At 12:30pm today the Binghamton Water Filtration Plant was evacuated after an employee of the Rochester based Thatcher Chemical Company, entered hydrofluorosilicic acid into an incorrect containment unit. The water supply was not affected by this error and the plant continued to function during the evacuation. The roadways surrounding the plant remained closed until 4pm this evening. more...
