Title:Laboratory Technician (Sanitary Services)
Description:


This is technical laboratory work involving the analysis of water or sewage in fulfilling “in-house” and State requirements.  The work is performed in accordance with established sterile and testing procedures and requires a high degree of alertness and accuracy in that the consequence of error could result in the endangerment of the physical health of the community.  The work is performed within limits prescribed by higher technical and professional authority who would devise procedures for new tests.  The work is performed under the general supervision of Laboratory Director.  Does related work as required.  See full Job Posting in document section at right.

The City of Binghamton, with community partners, is in its second year of a creative AmeriCorp VISTA project award that supports and strengthens the Binghamton Neighborhood Assemblies. The Neighborhood Assemblies are democratic forums, with a focus on social justice, in which residents can take a more direct and active role in the planning and decision-making process of local government. We are looking for competent, service-oriented individuals to consider making a year-commitment to fill any of the following VISTA positions: Beautification Coordinator, Media Coordinator, Community Organizer, Youth Coordinator, Community Arts Organizer, Research and Training Coordinator, and Racial Justice Trainer.
